Product Description

Hot Forged Rods Nimonic 80A Nickel-Chromium Alloy W.Nr. 2.4631

Nimonic 80A is a wrought, age-hardenable nickel-chromiumalloy, strengthened by additions of titanium, aluminum and carbon, developed for service at temperatures up to 815°C (1500°F). It is produced by high-frequency melting and casting in air for forms to be extruded. Nimonic 80A has been replaced by the Nimonic 90 and Inconel X-750, but is still widely used in nuclear power field due to its low cobalt content.

Characters

Good creep resistance performance at temperature 650°C~850°C.

Good resistance to oxidation at temperature 650°C~850°C

Good cold and hot work performance

Good resistance to fatigue in serve work conditions

Application

Gas turbine components such as blades, rings and plates, etc..

Bolts used in temperature and stress limit

Combustion engine exhaust valve and other high strength parts.

Nuclear boiler tube bracket

High temperature springs

Heat treatment process

The stamping forming of sheet and strip requires intermediate vacuum annealing after each forming with 1060 °C ± 10 °C,10min, argon fan cooling. The final heat treatment of the parts is timeliness in a vacuum furnace with 750 °C ± 10 °C,4h, argon fan cooling. For local machining hardening of the blade after consolidation (before limitation), argon or hydrogen protection surface annealing shall be performed according to the specified requirements with an annealing temperature of 1070 °C~1090 °C.

Cutting processing and grinding performance

The completely heat treatment state of the alloy has good machining performance.

Available forms

Hot-rolled rods, hot-forged rods, cold-drawn rods, hexagonal rods, ring parts, hot-rolled plates, cold-rolled plates, cold-rolled strip and various non-standard forgings.
